Your buddy needs to stop leaning back and letting that pistol control him. Its very apparent in the first video that the XD is jumping around in his hands. Control the pistol, is doesn't control you!

Thunder Ranch, Lethal Force Institute, Gunsite, Defense Associates, Tactical Defence Institute (vey close to you in West Union, Ohio), or get involved in local IPDA (Three Gun, IPSC, etc.) competition. That & they will tell you a LOT more than our combined review of fuzzy, youtube/myspace videos shot from behind. Keep at it, get serious & Good Luck!

First, quit drawing before you turn! Start the turn on the "go" and draw as you cross the 180. With practice you should be able to do the turn/draw in about the same time as a normal draw.

Second--El pres is shot from the surrender position (hands over shoulders).

Third--Your splits are okay, but the target transitions are pretty slow. In an ideal world it won't be "ba-bam...ba-bam...ba-bam", it'll be "ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-bam" with little discernible difference between splits and targets.

Last but not least--how were your hits? And ain't that a fun drill? It's utterly worthless in terms of defensive shooting, but it suree is fun to run!

Outstanding! Nice hits, guy! One instructor I know would tell you that means you should speed up! "Use the whole target box!"...<g> Your El Pres is better than 75% of humanity can do (with good hits).

"Back in the day" 10 seconds was the gold standard--now it needs to be 6 or less to be 'hot'.

Tyler: come shoot IDPA with us at the Bluegrass Sportsman's League sometime. Blue Grass Sportsmens League

It's the third Saturday every month...new shooters need to check-in by 9:30am. And you'll have to wear eye protection!
