    Criteria?

Two categories - handgun and longarm.

    Two questions for each -

    a) - your most valuable (fiscal)
    b) - your most valuable (functionally)

My own assessement is I think -

Handgun - most value (fiscal) - R9, most valuable (functional) SIG 226ST.

Longarm - Probably FAL - both fiscal and functional. (AK not too far behind in ''functional").

Let's see...I'm almost at four score and seven firearms, so this will be a hard one.

Handgun - cost me the most: Beretta Laramie. I paid near retail for once. A close second is the Vector HK51 thing.
Handgun - value: A pile in the $800 used range. Could be the Desert Eagle, Bushie pistol, Vector 51, the Laramie, etc. It's hard to subjectively tell.
Handgun - function: My original Sig 226, 9mm. I've put six figures of ammo through it now. It's paid for itself on the range and off.

Long gun, cost me the most: Auto-Ordnance 1927A1 with drum. Ironically, it's the most troubled gun in my collection and is back at the factory again.
Long gun, value: By the Blue Book this year, the Norinco 320 Uzi clone. It's laughably overvalued versus street (like 2.5x). Until a couple weeks ago, my Greek-manufactured Springfield SAR-8 but I traded it for another FAL and a player to be named later.
Long gun, function: My first FAL build, a Imbel receiver'd G1 kit with a minty FN Belgian barrel. It's scary accurate, looks like hell, and lives in my trunk.
Driver carries less than $45 worth of remorse.

    Lets see

$$ wise Rifle would be the AR-15
$$ Wise Pistol would be a colt 1911 never been shot

    Function wise

    Rifle be ar-15 again
Pistol tough call my 2 carry springers and the Glock would run neck and neck and so would the Hk

I do not have any very valuable handguns- S&W revolvers, a Ruger SA. But I do have a Merkel 47e sxs and a W H Monk sidelock ejector 12 bore made about 1890 that is death on quail or doves. If you really want to piddle away the kids' inheritance, collect english game guns or double rifles!

    Handgun:
    a. Colt Delta Elite Gold Cup
    b. Though I most often carry the Colt, as it has been functionally flawless, in the long run I'd have to say the Ruger Security Six is my most reliable.

    Longgun:
nothing of great value...just a Mak90 and SKS that always go bang and are fun to shoot.

    Let's see here...

Handgun, most valuable fiscally is likely my 629-4. Someday I keep telling myself I'll get a SIG and that'll probably be the most valuable one by a small margin if that ever comes to pass.

Most valuable handgun for function, well despite the fact I haven't had it all that long, it's the XD40.

Long guns... that's hard to say. I'm not sure what my most valuable one currently is. I do know what it will be however, and that will be whatever AR15 I wind up with.

Most functional long gun - toss up between my two .22 caliber rifles.
