I admit I was too lazy to look it up.

    Here's a link.

    Summary of Gun Legislation

    Motor Vehicles

By law, when handguns are being transported in a motor vehicle, they must be unloaded and kept (1) in a place not readily or directly accessible from the passenger compartment or (2) in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console (CGS 29-35). A violation carries a penalty of one to five years imprisonment, a fine of up to $ 1,000, or both, with a mandatory minimum one-year sentence in the absence of mitigating circumstances (CGS 29-37).

When long guns are being transported in a vehicle or snowmobile, they must be unloaded. A violation carries a fine of $ 10 to $ 100, imprisonment for up to 30 days or both (CGS 53-205).

That makes no sense. So, according to that, I can't carry on me with a permit? I think you left something out like doing what that says WITHOUT a pistol permit.

    Better link.

So, I was right. With a permit, there's no specific requirements of how a handgun is to be transported/carried in a vehicle.

    Summary of Gun Legislation
US12-- Try this link and scroll down to Motor Vehicles, I think your permit only lets you carry in vehicle if weapon is under your full control. Can these laws be any more confusing?

This has been addressed before. Again, there is nothing in the actual law (not a summary) stating how a handgun has to be transported/carried in a car if you have a permit.

I think just because you have a permit to carry on your person doesn't negate existing vechile laws. Do you feel the summary is an incorrect interpretation of the actual law? Why would one think that he has the right to vechile carry anyway he sees fit because the law doesn't specifically address this type of carry with a permit? Please help me understand, I'm not from Ct. and have not completely dove into it's carry laws. Trying to understand your reasoning.
