The EMPs have fixed sights. On such a short barrel I don't know how much good adjustable sights would be. Some models have adjustable sights, check out their website or go to a local gun shop and see if they have a Springfield catalog (they're free). The catalog has a nice chart showing what options the different models have.

Another nice one is the SA Lightweight Operator...
It has a "Armory Kote” Teflon finish that looks great in person, give the gun a "wet" look and it strong; as well as a match-grade barrel. I love mine!

Don't forget the Para carry 9.
The caliber does not affect the weight. A .45 weighs very nearly the same as a 9mm in the same model. Don't worry about it. Many of us carry all steel 1911's all day. The trick is a great gun belt and matching holster. While there are many satisfied customers of the mini-1911's, don't be too quick to buy one. They are not that much easier to conceal, and you give up velocity, stability, and a longer sight plane with a 3" gun compared to a Commander or Government.
