Does anyone know if you can adjust the trigger on a S&W 459?
Dad went shooting with us yesterday and brought his 459, but was having trouble with the trigger. In single action mode it has a long free space before you get to the actual point where you engage the trigger mechanism. It is very far back in the pull.
I didn't have trouble with it personally, but he is 80 yrs old and has reduced feeling in his right hand due to an injury and nerve damage 50 or so years ago. I was hoping there was a way to bring the egagement point of the trigger out farther so he could get a better feel on it.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

We used to have the 669 as a duty weapon. The short answer is no. The take up in SA is not really adjustable. A S&W trained armorer may be able to improve the feel of the trigger but the length of travel is not something that could be changed. A shining example of why DA/SA guns, especially the older ones, have a steeper learning curve for your trigger finger.
