Steyr Scout issue
I just purchased a Steyr Scout Rifle (not tactical) used, and took it outside to put a few rounds through for a preliminary verdict. Rifle shoots great for the 10 rounds I put through it, but I had one failure to fire with us military 7.62 ammo. I know military rounds sometimes have harder primers, and this is what I attribute it to (although I do not have any commercial ammo, just speculation at this time).
Is there anyone on here that has this rifle that can maybe guide me to a place that sells upgrade parts to get a harder impact on th primer?
TIA

Rob,
No one here owns one.
It's a very obscure and rare piece.
I know as per my own thread on same and very strong interest toward the Mannlicher 'Elite' (exact same as the pre-company take over Steyr 'Scout Tactical').
As to the firing pin there had been some reports of 'light hits'and there is a work around fro that as offered by the enthusiasts at SteyrScout.org; Dealing With Light Hits
Congrats on your acquisition!
