I'd say yes.
Wherever you purchase any ''illegal'' (in CA) item, then by default I'd see that as achieving that status as soon as brought into the state - absurd tho as the whole thing seems.
I am looking at nothing more than ''possession'' of ''illegal'' items in state, from wheresoever they were obtained.

If you lived ANYPLACE else I'd say yes, but in CA you'd better check carefully. It would seem silly to risk trouble over a couple extra rounds.

This may fall into the category of unless you had the mags prior to the high capacity ban, and can prove it. You most likely would be breaking the law. As much as I don't like lawyers, the slimy ones, you should consult a firearms lawyer in CA.

If you don't protect your self, who will?
I agree with above i think unless you could prove you bought the Hi caps before the ban you might have some problems..
