Shooting with your weak hand...
This is a discussion on Shooting with your weak hand... within the General Firearm Discussion forums, part of the Related Topics category; I see a lot of people talking about keeping both of their eyes open. Why would you be closing either of your eyes while shooting?...

I think the typical "aiming" process includes closing one eye, since then you're able to "look down the sights" at the target.
Don't ever underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Jay6, I know that when I was taught how to shoot the school of thought was one eye open, now a days they are are teaching both eyes open.

Every time, maybe 20-25% of the time to make sure I've still got "it". I can't really explain "it", but I know it when I feel "it". It's like when people go to the range and fire every shot in SA when they carry a DA/SA in C2 and every shot is two-handed.

Interesting, I practice weak handed, but my IDPA shoots only occasionally do this. Time for a new COF, complete with eye patch. Though I don't know if they will allow one handed reload.
On hiatus.
Hit my limit for speculation, the sky is falling, and gun owners fighting amongst themselves.

Shooting with both eyes open is what I know they teach for a majority of action pistol shooting, and I think it would carry over to SD as well. Being able to shoot with both eyes open I think increase your ability to see other threats and move from target to target much faster. Again just my opinion.
