Yes, let us know how it shoots for you. I have the 917VS like JD and I like it. Is topped with a 6-24x40 Tasco, and if I had to do it all over again I would have probably went with a lesser power scope. I shoot at little 1" orange pasters with it and can get all shots within the paster, as long as the wind is right. The only thing I would probably change on it is the trigger as it is on the heavy side. You won't be disappointed with the rifle.
I hate to say it sixto but It's very seldom the weather is to bad to shoot in South Texas,the only thing that really stops outdoor shooting is if it's raining and that's probably less than 2 days a month average
