He did a good job controlling it, but should it have gotten to that point in the first place?

A little better instruction, especially since it was to be televised, would be warranted.

Either way, I'm glad that there are people promoting it, its even better that is good looking women.

I glad there is a positive light being shown but i think they could have gotten a better educated person and not a "weapons specialist"

I'm surprised that pistol didn't fly up into her face with that thumb-folded-in palm grip

She seemed to handle the recoil of that shotty pretty well. Did she mention if it was a 12 or 20gauge?

I agree. Especially since they were doing a promo, safety should have been drilled home before she ever got her hands on the gun. Easy mistake when your a rookie and he had his hands right there to push it down range. At about 2:30 you can see she also has her finger out of the trigger area so I'm assuming she must have been taught that. Promote, promote, promote.

She was a giggling young school girl who had absolutely no previous experience and showed her immaturity. Not a good attitude for a responsible gun handler. No wonder California laws are so restrictive.

I was kinda surprised that she walked in as a first time shooter and asked for the best gun to try as a newbie and the salesguy handed her a 9mm.
Then he gave her a 12 gauge instead of a .410 for a "little shotgun".

Instead of reading his customer he was just picking what he liked best, IMHO.

You would think he would tech some basic range rules like don’t point it any place but down range and how to hold it.
If I owned that gun shop and that tool was working for me it would be his last day.

Did you happen to notice her grip was horribly low, and incorrect on top of that? It just makes me wonder if he gave her any instruction or just gave her a gun and let her shoot.

BTW, he should have anticipated her swinging the gun around and stopped it much sooner.

But, it did show a newbie can shoot a handgun, so I guess that's positive.

No instruction, no safety review, no understanding of the gun's mechanics, terrible handling/control of the firearm. If they did cover any of that, it was edited out. Obviously this is a "kids' magazine" show for the pre-teen and teenie types who don't think deeply about their news. (Sort of like Rosie's "View" for younger folks.)

Still, apparently there is now one more person (with a microphone) who doesn't have knee-jerk hate and fear for all things related to firearms.
