It could be the Democrats live in densely populated Urban areas where Republicans are more in Rural Areas

Do you have a source for these statistics? I'd like to investigate further.

Haven't you heard. Using statistics that possibly encourage the belief that guns DECREASE crime is unconstitutional?

This figure would make sense as most of the larger cities are democrat run while the more rural areas are republican leaning. Cities have always been more crime-ridden due to higher population density and other social issues I'd rather not get into at the moment. If you look at the way Ohio voted during the last election every rural county was red; the only blue counties were those containing the larger cities like Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnatti, Akron, etc... but the win was for the democrats as the populations of those counties is so much higher. That statistic makes perfect sense.

Uncle Barry says there's lies, damn lies, and statistics. He must be right, he's just so COOL. I'd love to get the source study for that one, though. And I'm thinking that a BIG part of that will be that even in blue states, the majority live in very urban areas, where gun control is waaay tougher, making the sheep much easier to get to...

Another reason for y'all to move to Mississippi.

there is no statistic that proofs that gun laws affect crime either way. Carrying a gun will affect your personal safety, not crime overall.

I have to say that republicans do not live around here in the wild and wonderful WV. Here republicans are the minority by far. I have to say though that discussion is not worth it without a source for the statistics mentioned.

I found this link that has a little more info.. It apparently is compiled from a list of all big cities.

I like how NY used to be at the top of the list, until Rudy took over.
