Is it appropriate to give the gift of ammo?

I have a couple of friends (female) who love to shoot, I can easily find out what they have and thought they might appreciate this sort of thing.

I've rounded up about $150 worth of ammo for my brother in law this year for gifts. 17 HMR, 22WMR, and 7mm Mag ammo plus some shirts and socks for his hunting expeditions. The gift of ammo is a good gift to give this Christmas.

I believe any gun owner would appreciate the gift of ammunition, I know I would. I flat out told my wife that this year I expect some for myself

Nope, not a appropriate gift to give someone.....so send it to me and all will be forgiven!!

Seriously, as long as they are shooters I don't think it is inappropriate to give ammo. Only thing that might make it inappropriate, is if they take it that your saying they need to practice more!

Its the thought that counts .. not the gift. Sure its appropriate.

I think its fine as long as its an interest you share, so your sure to get the right kind to be useful.

One of the greatest gifts I ever received was from my "Secret Santa" at work in 1995.
It was a Remington coffee mug (drinking from it as I write this) that contained a plastic bag full of .22 long rifle ammo. .

Off the top of my head I can't remember anything else I received since then, except for my Big Mouth Billy Bass. I can tell you though that I don't remember the singing fish for quite the same reason.

If they decided on their own to buy the gun and shoot it, they are probably over the taboo of it. Buy buy buy!

I ask for ammo every year at Christmas

As a matter of fact ammo is all that my oldest brother and I give each other for presents and it's been that way for 20 years

Ammunition the gift that keeps on giving. Possibly the wrong size if you don't know the persons' caliber of choice, but it is never the wrong color. If you want to send some my way I won't object, Lol.

My size is either 9mm or .40 S&W in brass. It'll go with anything I've got.

I always can appreciate ammo for a gift, If it the wrong caliber then I have another reason to buy another gun or it gives me an excuse to ask for that caliber of gun for my birthday..

    I can't think of a gift I'd rather receive!
