    Epcot Center, Orlando Fl

I know the question about carry in Disney parks comes up now and then so I thought I would leave a quick note. I went to Epcot yesterday and left my G19 locked in my glove. When I got to the gate my GF had to open her bag for security and I just walked right through. I could have carried all day long with out issue.

Might want to tighten up those holster screws before going on any rides

I went to Mickey's Merry Christmas like two weeks ago. My Walther PPS was at my side (not SmartCarry) the whole time. I would have prefered the M&P, but I figured I better go with the gun that would have the least chance of printing. No problems whatsoever.

I carried to a wedding at the Wedding Pavilion yesterday. There was literally zero security though.

Went to Universal Studios in Orlando Saturday. Walked right in. All they had was a casual bag check.

Walt Disney is pretty much anti-gun, but there are few "no weapons" signs on the property. They have little meaning anyway. They can ask you to leave, whether or not they have signs. As earlier posts suggest, visible security is pretty minimal.

There's no pat down, as they dont' want to scare off the tourists. As has been said, only a casual, quick bag check by smiling, elderly security guards.

However, keep in mind that the bulk of security are watching you via camera, at all times and no matter where you are in the park. Disney also has one of the largest private security forces, including armed security. Sometimes you will see them walking around with dogs.

I have traveled many times tio Disney and never seen armed security. I have seen a Orange County Officer standing before the ticket area but never in any park. Disney is big on loss prevention. Shop lifting. You can walk thru all the stores on Main street and pay for any item at any register so items can get lifted (stuffed into other bags). They are also big into CCTV but I am sure more for Slip and Fall injuries more than anything else. (concealed is concealed) As stated many times they have a real Micky Mouse Police Force.

Was at Epcot a few weeks ago. Had my Byrd Cara Cara clipped into my pocket. Some BOZO in plain clothes at the gate flashes a badge and says he's security. He asks me to tuck the knife deep into my pocket so it doesn't fall out. I was wearing pants that fit rather loosely, so if I just left it in my pocket it stood a much greater chance of falling out than if it was clipped onto my pocket. The Byrd/Spyderco clips aren't weak, by any means.

What does that tell you? That security really doesn't have a clue. As soon as I was past the little walls, I clipped it right back on and didn't have another issue. 5 days total, one confrontation about the knife.

You are correct about the loss prevention. I can remember a story when I was in high school about a cheerleader stealing a PEN and being caught quickly on camera. Either way, stay armed and stay concealed in Disney.

Also, if you going to the other parks with "real" rides, I wouldn't trust keeping my firearm in those flimsy lockers they use outside the bigger rides. Also, I'm not sure how one would move the weapon back and forth without being detected.

I promise you, they are there. Both Disney's and the Orange Co SO.

Long story short...took a youth group. One of the girls decided to steal something. 2 of her friends came running to me that she had been taken by some men. Kept asking until they took me into the bowels of Disney. Huge room. LOTS of people being arrested. LOTS of LEOs and security.

Same trip, I watched as the ride at the Haunted House was stopped, and the couple in the car next to me was escorted out a door you would not normally see. Don't know what they did, but I bet you they didn't do it again that night (or maybe ever at Disney).

The bowels of Disney are famous. The way Disney in Orlando was build is that they essentially build a multi story structure above ground, and then buried most of it. That way they ended up with a "basement" that is above the water level. All the operations of Disney (trash removal, deliveries, employee movements) are hidden from the public. The tunnels span the entire property.
