Question NRA Instructor Courses in NOVA/DC/MD

I am thinking seriously about getting an NRA certification as a pistol instructor. Can anybody recommend a good source of instructor training in my neck of the woods? I live in MD near DC, so anything from Northern VA on up would be good.

Also, the one thing that is still unclear to me after perusing the NRA training site is whether the Pistol Instructor cert requires two classes or just one; that is, do I need Instructor Basic before I take Pistol Instructor, or does the latter include the former?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

When I received my cert's back in the early 80's, it was a one day class and was very informal. No hands on was required, all tests were written. As long as I keep teaching classes, I dont have to renew my cert. I teach 2 NRA classes per year and that keeps me grandfathered in the system.

I'm sure to get certified today, its a whole different program. Glad I got certified back in the dark ages.
