    Obsessive gun owner?

Funny... I was called obsessive by an anti because I have so many guns and am not afraid to stand up for those rights. How do I respond to that "obsessive" comment?

I would wear it as a badge of honor. Sort of like when my kids tell me they hate me, that usually means I'm going my job.

Post How To Respond To An Anti-Gunner

    You Say:

Yes, I realize that me collecting so many firearms may seem obsessive to you but, I feel that I have a sworn duty and obligation to legally buy up as many of them as I can...and keep them securely locked up so that they can never end up in the hands of criminals out on the street.

anti's will say you're obsessive if you simply mention the word "gun".

Find out if the "anti" is obsessive about, say, his free speech rights ("Why do you need to express opinions on so many subjects?"), or the freedom of the press ("Why do you need so many liberal newspapers?"), or separation of church and state, or access to abortion, or protection against cruel and unusual punishment, and protection from causeless search and seizure, or...

I think you can see how this conversation can go if you want to win debating points. If you have any other goal in mind, you might as well just walk away and do something better with your time.

Oh, nice one. I bet that makes the anti just turn and walk away, 2 birds 1 stone.

Yeah, but I bet his music boxes have never gone off by themselves and killed someone...

Oh wait, never mind, guns don't do that either. I got nothin' then.

I usually don't even reply to comments like that. I use silent treatment.

I know who I am and what I enjoy...I shouldn't have to explain myself what so ever and let them have thier own opinions..

You are obsessive! Much like 99% of the people who bother reading or posting on sites like this. Anyone with a hobby can be considered obsessive.

I would have said "thanks, don't you have any hobbies?" The anti probably has 200 Hello Kitty accessories, lol.

    Why respond at all?

Talking to an anti is likely to end up being an exercise in futility, anyway.
