    Odd question

i was asked an odd question today by one of the guys i work with.
would i be feasible to modify a tapco mini14 stock for use on an M1 carbine? i immediatly figured it would require tools my buddy didn't have but i said i'd get back to him if i can find out otherwise. anyone here have an idea on how to do this?

yeah i know that would be the easiest solution but i have yet to find anyplace that makes a stock for the M1 that meets what he wants. i wonder if i could try to build one? seems there could be a market for "modernised" M1's in the near future.

he wants an M4 style adjustable stock quad rail on the forend and would prefer full synthetic funature(after i offered to buy an old M1 wooden stock and build everything he wants onto it)
from what he said he wants to mount onto the rails it sounds like he's gonna use it for home defense(EOtech holo sight, surefire flashlight, knights broomstick forward grip)

You could inlett the stock and then glass bed it. Keep in mind I haven't looked at either stock or gun but I think it's possible but time consuming.

That's the answer. Big PITA for minimal return. Frankly, this would be his best investment: AK-47 Accessories, AK-47 Mini-14, Mini-30, M1 .30 Carbine Scout Scope Mount from UltiMAK
Quad rails, adjustable stock, etc.,etc., will simply give an unweildy gun that may not function reliably unless a good bit of work is put into the stock fitting. If he's not wearing body armor, the adjustable stock has more disadvantages than benefits.
