    Kahr CW9

My daughter is not quite 21 yrs old, but will be this year. Her boyfriend bought a new Kahr CW9 a couple of weeks ago that will be hers when she does turn 21. We went out and worked on breaking it in this Sunday. SHe really likes it and I have to say that it does seem to be a very nice gun so far.
    Here are a few shots.

    Ron

We also shot her boyfriends Taurus 1911.

Very cool. I got myself a CW9 in December and like it a lot.

But I am very jealous that you can get your wife to shoot!!!

Nice pictures. I am surprised that the bf doesn't have thumb issues with the way that he has his right thumb positioned on that S&W 1911. Ouch

Gunney, I do agree with you. It looks like a real good way to nail your thumb good. It sure is not how I hold it.

Ron, he may be able to get away with that grip on the 1911, but the Kahr will eat him up. I speak from experience. My right thumb has been healed for just a couple of weeks. I got a CW9 a couple of months ago as a pocket pistol to carry left front. A few days before I had been out shooting my Charter Arms Bulldog and did a lot of the shooting weak (left) handed. I often carry the Bulldog in the left front. When I took out the Kahr for the first shot I was using my left hand and muscle memory took over on the grip. I gripped it revolver style with the right thumb around the the back of the pistol. The first round sliced a very good line just behind the knuckle. I now have a nice scar.

If your daughter finds the CW grip harsh on her hands, like my wife and I do, try an AGrip. They work well. The grip is soft, but gives a good feel and the gun does not move in the hand.

Thanks George for the info on the AGrip. She was not complaining at all when shooting the gun. She shoots pretty good and had had a fair amount of experience with different guns.
The CW9 is a pretty sweet gun. I like it a lot. I am kind of wondering how the CW40 would handle.

That Kahr grip is rough as all git out but it locks into your bare hands solid! At the range just practice a few without gloves and the rest with gloves on. I use gloves after the first few mags. until I am done shooting. I like to practice a few mags barehanded just for practice's sake.

We generally do not wear gloves at all, but it was cold.
