On a scale of 1 to 10 how absurd is asking $8000 + tax for the new FN SCAR-L?

Thats the price my local dealer has it listed for.

I know its new but that seems wayyyyy too high for just about any .223 semi auto rifle

Then again, this is the same dealer that is asking $1500 for a DPMS Sportical....

    1st rule

in sales you can lower your price but you can't ask for more. 2nd rule everything is negotiable. 3rd rule perception is reality.

They're not priced to sell, unless someone is really damn determined.

from what I've heard, the going rate is around 5-6k on gunbroker...there are a few there now with bids in the 4-5k range.

if people are buying them at that price, no one's going to ask less.

    Supply

My FFL mentioned that several LEO's asked him to get them one, and then when he contacted FN was told that he had to be a stocking dealer and order severla other items. All of that just to get the right to order a single SCAR. FN is keeping the supply side of the equation slanted in their favor right now. If you have the dollars though I would love to read your range report!
