Tommy Gun Problem 1927A1
I recently purchased an Auto-Ordanance 1927A1 long gun that was made in the late 1980's from the original owner and it is still in excellent condition.
Here's my problem though:
The gun will not fire! It just goes "click". It will not release the firing pin. Of course this is all with the safety off and with or without a chambered round. The trigger goes completely to the rear but again just goes "click" without releasing the firing pin. The bolt appears to be in complete battery so im not sure whats wrong.
Now here's something else weird. If I flip the gun upside down, the gun fires every time! I only did this dry-firing of course while having it upside down, but the trigger releases the firing pin everytime.
Any ideas what is going on here? Thanks in advance.
I see you have already read this Tommy Gun thread. So, I think you know the cause; if the bolt has ever been manually cycled with the saftey on it causes severe damage to the sear; one poster claims that the fix costs around $400.
