Range day 02/11/09
well since the weather here in KY is oddly warm for February I decided to take the 1911 to the range, i did some firing from 25, and 50yards from standing and benched and moving. the upper rounds were at 50yds and the lower were at 25yds, ill be the first to say im not a pro, but im getting better everyday, target was standard size shilloutte, all rounds hit the target. weapon was RIA 1911 tac.
Someone once said "if you hit the same spot, your shooting to slow"
But will you PLEASE re-size your images before posting them.
sorry about the size, is it better now?
Good hits. I had a gun instructor tell me once that 2 hits 6 in. apart do more damage than 2 hits in the same hole. Makes sense to me.

Yes I've also been instructed to hit about several inches apart, will cause more damage. When the round hits, it normally does about 3-4inches of shock/damage radius to tissue. So another shot in the same area as the first will not do as much damage as a shot further apart doing a wider spread of damage/shock.
Though two rounds in the same area will gape a wound for massive blood loss.
I don't usually try to put a round through a hole I just made....I like to try to get a whole a couple inches apart.
I saw a guy at a range fire firve shots and made two holes.....the instructor gave praise for the accuracy but told him to stagger the shots instead of tring to keep them so close for a SD shooting.
