    Texans Help Me Out

    Hey yall,

I'll be turning 21 April 7th and can not wait to get my CHL. I've been doing as much research as I can just to have a knowledge of what's going on when I go to get certified. My main question is on how I know where and where not to carry my gun? It seems complicated from everything I've been reading online. I know I can not carry in a bar, but what about a restaurant that does serve alcohol? Is there a website someone can post with that kind of information?

Any help or advice on anything about getting my CHL will be greatly appreciated. I love this website I've learned many many valuable things.

Thanks for all of yalls help,
    Tommy

First research TX laws on this site.

    Handgunlaw.us

While not from TX I believe if not posted with a 30.06 sign your legal to carry.

You will have lots of time to study up while you are waiting for your license, print this out and study it.. make notes in the margins and highlight it

Yep, just read through that document a few times and learn what is in it. Pay attention in class and you will be good to go.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.
