Springfield Loaded Target 9mm Pics and Range Report

First of all, let's get the pics out of the way. Sorry for the quality, all I have is my iPhone to take pictures with.

    Springfield Loaded Target 9mm

    With a Tripp Cobra magazine

    The new mag well

    The new FO front sight

Okay. Before I start the range report I have to say that I put on the G10 grips, an S&A one piece mag well and a Novak Tactical FO front sight. I also dropped in a Wilson bullet proof slide release. Oh, I put some deck tape on the front strap to help with the grip.

I'm sorry to say that it was one of the most boring range sessions I have ever had. It was on par with my Glocks and my M&P Pro. I had no FTFs. FTEs. Nothing in the 250 rounds I put through it. Slow fire, rapid fire, mag dump, it took it. I used about 50 WWB value pack, 50 regular 50 round box WWB, 50 brass cased Independence and 100 Blazer metal case rounds. I used two Wilson ETMs and two Tripp Cobra Mags. It ate everything without a single hiccup. In fact, I might try it out this weekend at the IDPA match I'm going to instead of the M&P.

The only problem I have now is do I buy 10 more Wilson ETMs or 10 more Tripp magazines?

The one I got is one that is assembled in the US. I've heard that not all of them are.

You have a great handgun if it shot that Independence stuff well.

First thing you going to want to do with those rear sights, is round the corners, if your going to carry it. I had them leave a nice scratch in my forearm on mine, very sharp.

I'm not really planning on carrying it, but rounding the corners is on the list of things to do.

Nice pistol.. I like the combo. I cant help but ask though, why did you choose a 9 instead of a 45??

Glock27/ KaBar TDI/ MTAC Holster. I have more also, but this combination works well..

    1) I didn't want to have to go out and buy 5000 rounds of .45. All my other pistols are 9mm. That would have doubled the total cost of the gun.

    2) I wanted to get a gun to shoot in a division other than SSP. I don't like XDs or the other options that would let me shoot ESP.

    3) I didn't have a 1911. Now I do.

That's awesome.. I can understand the price thing also.. I have a 40, as well as the 45, so I see your point.. Nice pistol still though, and you'll enjoy it a lot..

Just got a Springfield Loaded Target 9mm 1911 for my wife, (yes, it was the best trade I've made in a while, har har!) we knew the previous owner, had shot with him and saw it on consignment at the range's shop. He had put so much money into tweaking the performance. Inner mirror-polishing, custom grips, match-grade barrel, same rear sights as yours. We had our names down at several gun shops for one of these guns, the demand on Springfield for this model was huge, plus Springfield has been busy promoting their XDm line, we'd been waiting nearly 2 years for one...

Problem is, she likes it so much she got a holster and wants to have it for her carry gun. Two problems: The match-grade barrel doesn't load hollow points very well, and the sights have scratched her inner forearm so she only wears long sleeves while carrying now... I'm gonna get her a Sig 229 elite, she'll change her mind!
