My 10mm project

I started a thread about a new 1911 I bought as a project gun, you can see the original gun here http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulle...me-1911-a.html , a few people wanted to see the progress so here it is.

I had originally planned on doing most of the work myself but it turned out to be "above my pay grade", so to speak.


Once I got all the parts together a friend of mine at T&F Firearms in Thomasville Ga started on the work. Not shown are the new recoil spring and full length guide rod.
I opted to go with a second barrel so I can still shoot .40 when I want to or have to due to $.


It's a little scary to see your gun stripped to bare metal.


Final fitting of the Ed Brown beaver tail. Frank was also wetting my appetite for a class III shoot coming up in our area.


Color on the frame

A preview of the final gun, the slide and controls still have to be painted black.


Once everything is completed I will post pics and give a range report.
