Looking to buy something at The Richmond gun show

The richmond gunshow is this coming weekend. I've managed to save a bit out of my tax refund and I plan on buying something there. I will have between 500 and 700 to spend. I am thinking of maybe some kind of 1911 pistol or perhaps an assault rife type of semi auto. I currently have 2 44 mags, one .357, one 38 snubby, one Tanfoglio 9mm and a S&W 457 in 45 ACP. I also have an SKS that I got from msomeone and I am in the process of refurbishing it. I don't want another SKS type unless I can get one chambered in .223, becauseI am worried about a ban on importing AMMO. I used to have a mini 14, but it was stolen in a breakin about 10 years ago, and I still have two hi cap mags(a 20 and a 30) for that rifle, but I don't think I'll be able to find one for what I can afford to pay My original was only around $300 or so, and by the time my insurance paid off on the loss, they had doubled in price, so I bought the 457 instead. I do miss the Ruger though.

You might stumble on a Mini-14 within the price range you suggest. I was at a show this past weekend and saw several that would have left you with change for your $700. Since you still have the magazines you could put them to use. Seems Mini-14 magazines are a bit pricy if they're factory hi-cap.

Otherwise, what about a good .22?

Be prepared for a HUGE crowd. The last show in Fredericksburg was packed.

    Ammo was not plentiful.

ARs were present but not in great numbers and I saw no cheap ones.

Golden and Zimmerman had the new Tisas pistols for a reasonable price. These may be a diamond in the rough so to speak. Check them out...high capacity pistols in 9mm and .45, nicely finished.

You never know what you'll find...good luck.
