Picked up the Savage today :D

I picked up my Savage MkII FVXP today. After cleaning off the cosmoline and applying a little TW25B, the action is smooth as butter. Trigger pull is really nice. I wasn't sure how I would like the "accutrigger" but I think it feels pretty good. The 4x scope that came with it is pretty clear for a cheapie, and definitely good enough for a .22. I'm very happy with it so far...still have to test fire it. Probably gonna knock that out this weekend.

The Savages are tack drivers, I'm always suprised how well they do given the cost.

I love the accutrigger on those guns, I personally think that's one of the best things that Savage has done. IMO

Not only are the Savage MKII series rifles great shooters out of the box, they're also ripe for customizing. This is my MKII BV-

Cool. I own 2 Savage rifles myself.

I've seen yours before on here. I like it.

I took it to the range today. Didn't feel like driving far, so I just went to the indoor range close by. I was only able to shoot at 25 yards, but I got it zeroed to that range and it's effortlessly shooting a single ragged hole with each 5 round group. I didn't have a proper rest, chair, or anything else, so I had to hunch over pretty uncomfortably to shoot off the ledge (it's a handgun range, so not really designed for this kind of stuff. Hard to keep it stable without sandbags or whatever, so I assume if I were to shoot at 25 yards with bags and in a comfortable position, I could easily shoot round on top of round perfectly. I can't wait to find out how nice it shoots at 100 yards.
