My hardest-kicking is a Winchester 70 in 416 Rem Mag. Decent if standing, just bad shooting off a bench. And then this odd one - a Winchester trapper 94 in 44 Magnum. I don't know what it is about that stock, feels like it is 1/8" wide. And the whole gun with that short barrel doesn't feel any heavier than a Ruger Super Blackhawk. That little lever gun just beats me up. A Marlin in 44 I don't even notice.

Service rifle with the anti-tank grenade launcher; you'd put the stock under your armpit and wrap the sling across your chest and left arm.
I was in "military shape" at that time, it pushed me 5 feet back.
The sling also shattered everything I had in my shirt pocket.

In second place I'd put my wife's SW .357 Scandium; it weights less than the ammo you put in it (well maybe not); she loves it - I hate it.

ROFLMAO..... I did that when I was 18 ..... it took 3 weeks before my shoulder wasn't black and blue any more. I didn't have it in my shoulder well either, which added to it. My "friend" who put them in there (his gun) ... still laughs about that 40 yrs later.

    M256 120mm on a M1A2 Abrams Tank.

    or the Barrett M82.

unless you mean while a civilian. That would be an old 50 cal blackpowder rifle. That thing hurt! Especially since it didn't fire immediately after I pulled the trigger and I slacked up a bit

Old 10 ga side by side, steel but plate. When I was 15, set off both barrels at same time, knocked me on my butt.

No Mosin Nagant stories? Not nearly as hairy as what some of you guys have but it's the most uncomfortable I've been. Heck of a way to learn correct rifle technique - was my first non-22 rifle and it turns out there are all kinds of little bones you can bruise...

I feel your pain on the Winchester Trapper 94 in .44 Magnum! What makes it worse is that you just don't expect that big of a kick coming at you from that rifle.
I also have a Mosin Nagant 44 Carbine that shoots the 7.62x54 Russian caliber that kicks pretty hard due to no recoil bad and the "skull crusher" steel buttplate at the end of the stock. But that little Winchester lever .44 mag kicks like a mule!!

454 Mag wheel gun. I have no idea what make it was. it belonged to a friend of mine. we went to a range to fire off his new gun. that thing jumped straight over my head every time. I fired 4 shots and had a headach.

A friend of mine had a small lightweight .44 mag revolver, and had some real hot loads in there.

Now I've shot plenty of .44 mag, but with the small gun and hot loads, this thing dang near ripped the gun out of my hand, and I'm not a little fella.
