    She is on board

You may remember this thread from last fall:
    http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulle...ussions-2.html

Just a note to anyone else having family resistance, do not give up hope. Keep working at it, bide your time. Pick your moment. You can make it happen.

I have not been able to sleep much tonight since yesterday's discussion!

In our relationship, I have always gotten best long term results by achieving mutual understanding, rather than 'My Way or Else' sort of thing - that is why I decided to wait, and work through it over the winter.

    Time to go SHOOPP-PING!!

    Congrats!

Now, are you shopping for yourself, or for you AND her?

My wife was opposed to guns for the first 6 years of our marriage because we have three young boys. After the election she decided we needed a gun in the house. What was supposed to be a 12 gauge pump for home defense turned in to a Glock 23 for myself and a Springfield XD9 subcompact for her. She enjoys going to the range more than she thought she would.

I think once they feel the power of the gun and realize that "they" are in control of what happens with the gun they are all into it.

This is true for everyone, not just women.

Educate the boys. Use a professional instructor if available.

If the guns are not physically attached to your body. Lock them up.

Remember you never truly know what is going on in anyones head at any given time. This includes spouse, children, siblings, friends, neighbors or anyone visiting your home

CNN - Police say Hartman's wife told friends about shooting - June 2, 1998
Hartman, 49, was shot to death last week in his suburban Encino home by Brynn Hartman, 40, who later committed suicide, police said. The actor died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head. His wife died of a single gunshot wound to the head, coroner's office spokesman Scott Carrier said.

    Be safe.

Glad you got your wife to see the light.

I hear this same problem from many of my friends.

Slowly, they are starting to come around.

Enjoy that G23. I sure like mine.

+1 on that advice. I married a woman from small town west Texas who grew up around guns. We go shooting together, and she owns a couple of her own.
