JD, did you get your Iowa permit?
This is a discussion on What is your biggest complaint about gun laws in your state? within the General Firearm Discussion forums, part of the Related Topics category; JD, did you get your Iowa permit?...
Overall, Nevada is a great state for concealed carry. My biggest complaint is the requirement to qualify with each pistol that you want to carry concealed, and that it needs to be listed on your CCW permit. I have both a Glock 19 and Glock 26 in 9mm, but each has to be on my permit. I bought a Glock 30 before Christmas, but I haven't yet had the chance to qualify, so I still can't carry it. Revolvers, on the other hand, are different. You qualify with one revolver, and you can carry any revolver. I have no problem with having to qualify once, I just think that it's ridiculous that you have to qualify with each.
You raise a valid point Squawker. I found that part of the CCW law somewhat strange. We only have to qualify with one revolver and then we can carry ANY revolver. This applies to small derringers as well.
By the same token we have to qualify with each of our Glocks, etc. And it costs us an additional $25.00 to add that new gun to our CFP. I wonder about the logic here.
