New Pistol (at least for me)

Just purchased a used S&W 40 cal Pistol model 4046TSW (shhhh don't tell the wife. I'm invoking the 72 hour rule). It shows very little if any wear. I've have been wanting a carry 40 cal and it will be my first with an adjustable rear site and a tactical rail. Only paid $225 for it so figure I couldn't go too wrong.

Opinions of others are always welcome.

Fine handgun. I had a 9 set up the same way. Never had a problem with it and shot several thousand rounds without a hitch.
    $225 was a great price.

    72 hour rule:

If you purchase anything of real value and then leave it where it can be seen but not too obvious. If the wife doesn't notice it within the first 72 hours it’s perfectly OK to tell her you have had that item for a long time and question either her memory or powers of observation or both.

From AM 1500 Minneapolis radio talk show "Garage logic"

First premise of "Garage Logic". There is no problem so big it cannot be solved by a few guys standing in a garage with a beer in their hands.

Ask any of the Minnesota or Western Wisconson members. Oh right nobody from Wisconson cares to carry a gun. Anyway they will all know about "garage Logic".

    Works every time.

I was down the shop yesterday and the wife came in and saw the two guns I was bore sighting on the bench and said "are you buying those?".... now... truth is that one I have had for a year and the other one just since Monday so my reply is "I've had these for a while and I am just mounting scopes on them". She has never seen either of them. My twist on it is that I NEVER tell her when I buy one or not. She doesn't know any of them other then the couple she has bought for me.

Alright I'll try it but if it doesn't work I'm telling her you gave me the idea.

BamaSteve, Maybe I should let you try first and you can let me know how it goes...

Only paid $225 for it so figure I couldn't go too wrong.
    Only?

According to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 3rd Edition, the NIB value is $650.00, excellent condition value is $500.00.

Nice pistols...but you may get arrested for 'stealing it'...

By the way, another way to get around purchases is to double and tripple the order...my Kimbers look alike, my Glocks look alike, and she can't open one of the safes.

I have a suspicion that she does the same thing with shoes and dresses...
