Myth! Especially if you use premium defensive ammo, flash is negligible. Loading handloads with commercial powder, and firing them for a camera, is NOT a realistic representation of what happens with good duty/carry ammo.
I am not a fan of ported handguns, but being blinded by flash is not one of the reasons I dislike ports.

I would grab the one I shoot the best.
"Gun Free Zones" is where only criminals carry guns.

I think round count is my chosen gun.
If the BG is wearing a BPV your in more trouble then you know.
12G. slug should stop that threat.

Neither, I would grab my G26, which is also my EDC gun.

My vote
I believe, given the stress of the situation and the potential for "loss of fine motor skills" the extra ammo would come in handy, not to mention the addition of the night sights. Just my 2 cents. I vote for my favorite, the H&k.

Assuming I had been sleeping I would grab the .40 as I wouldn't want the flash from the ports rendering me blind.

Id prefer the .40 over the .357, not because of a choice in rounds, but because you stated your .357 has a ported barrel, im not using anything with a ported barrel in a low light situation, its going to give you alot of muzzle flash and make it more difficult to reacquire targets
im not saying you're going to be blinded, but any excessive flash is going to cause a problem

My usual bedside gun is 686Plus, 4" bbl, with .38 special +P hollowpoints. I like how I can shoot it.

For a bedside gun, I think of it differently than most.
First of all, I know I’m going to be drowsy, stunned, and somewhat disoriented. My aim is going to be diminished, is my disadvantage, but my advantage of the BG not knowing where I’m at or that I am armed is a major plus.
So, what I look for in a bedroom gun is big capacity, lower recoil, and easy to point and shoot.
So, if I were you, I’d pick the H&K 40
I keep a Glock 17 loaded with 17 rounds of +P+ 9mm

BG call at all hours and I wouldnt want my night vision ruined after the first shot from that ported fire breather. HK all the way.
