Taurus 92 9mm to 22 conversion kit

Anyone have any first hand experience with the 22 conversion set up for a Taurus model PT92? I think they are made in Florida..what I've read they might be ok...the ads I've seen talk of using hi velocity long rifle ammo (not magnums) but don't specify if you can use round nose lead bullets...some of the more potent 22 long rifle with the copper plated bullets is scarce as is much of the ammo these days...if it will eat lead bullets I'd probably buy one to plink with and for my wife to shoot...she has some issues that prevent her from firing a larger pistol..
