Also I carried it a bit today. It's a bit heavier then my Glock 36. I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna change my primary carry yet, we'll see how it does at the range. I have a date set for tomorrow

But that Glock-36 is sooooooooooo easy to conceal.

Yes it is... but even easier to OC, and the 1911 is even easier then that
I OC/CC 50/50 depending on the weather. I may keep my Glock as a console/car carry, I really haven't decided how this will all play out yet.

Congratulations! Beautiful gun there.
Don't worry, you can carry whatever gun you choose. Not everyone will look done on you if you don't carry the AO. I mean there are a few that haven't seen the light yet. And if nothing else, the G36 tells the world you are not a slave to fashion.
Just kidding! LOL!
Carry what you like, but I bet you end up with the AO.

I like it! I 1911s that are close to the original U.S. issue pistols. It'd look great with those wood grips too!
My Brother-In-Law has had an Auto Ordnance 1911 for over 20 years and has had good, reliable service from it. Function and accuracy are topnotch.

Very nice addition! Congratulations! I'll be in the same boat more than likely when and if the time comes.....basic model 1911A1 and add just a few parts myself as a minimal customization. Rubber finger groove grips for mine, an extended slide release and thumb safety, and a flat mainspring housing to start, then a match barrel and bushing. Maybe I do still miss my former Norinco 1911A1 now and then. I'm a firm believer that a full size 1911 was and still is the best......it was just meant to be. Love my Glocks compact, and sub-compact, but that hunk of steel with a five inch barrel, and all the weight of two Glock pistols, just reaches out and touches the soul. I know you'll enjoy it, and if it fits the hand, you'll become one. Next time you hold it, and fondle it, and work it, say a prayer for me................I've got the fever again.
Good luck with that new pistol, even though the word 'pistol' just somehow doesn't fully describe the full size 1911A1.

It doubles as a club to bludgeon someone to death if you run out of ammo
