I have my father Colt 38 for the last year he bought it in 1981 ish. Was trying to track down my grandfather 38 but the last owner said he turned it it to be destroyed a few years ago. Dont really believe him.
Not sure the age of my walther PP .32ACP, but I have a Colt Detective Special from 1960, orignal blueing, with tyler t-grips added three or four months ago.
My .22lr bolt action rifle was purchased when I returned from the Navy in 1970. My 20ga. shotgun was purchased used from an aunt in about 1959 when I was 13 yrs old.
I had my first .22 about 59 years ago, I don't have it anymore, so the Highway Patrolman I bought in 1977 would be the oldest I still own.
The oldest gun I have is a P-08 from 1918.
By age: S&W model 2 manufactured in 1862 First gun I shot: .22 Ruger Mark1 (was my dad's, now mine...shot it when I was 6) First gun I bought: Remington 870 Wingmaster, bought it on my 18th birthday.
I sold my first pistol, a Harrington-Richardson 9-shot .22LR that I had for over 30 years...I have often regretted that trade.:gah:
I have bought, sold, or traded quite a few firearms while beginning CCW almost 8 years ago.:icon_neutral:
My oldest now is my KelTec P-3AT that I've had for over six years now.
Almost 45 years ago now. Learned to make the first shot count, cuz follow up shots on a running bunny with a bolt gun that has about a 25 yd range just aren't gonna happen very often! :hand5:
My grandfather gave me a 410 Shotgun when I was a small child. A friend of mine has it at his house, but technically I guess it is still mine. That would be over 26 years. My second oldest would be a rifle I have had for about 17 years. My oldest handgun would be about 14 years old. Come to think of it, I have been one of those bitter people who clings to his guns and religion for most of my life.
I still have a 22 rifle that belonged to my Grandfather. I got it when he passed away and that was about 43 years ago. I have an M1 Garand that belonged to my father and it was built in 1940. I also have and old black powder side by side that am still researching so am unsure as to it's origins or age.
Mike
My oldest is a three year old G30. I had a Ruger Security Six with a four inch barrel 25 years ago and I sold when I needed some money in my youth. I wish I had it now.
The gun I've personally owned the longest is my S&W M&P40c. The oldest gun I have is a K43 that my Grandfather brought back from WWII. It's stamped '45.
I have a Remingtom Mohawk 10C 22lr that my father gave to me when I was 10. Still have it to pass to my oldest son (as soon as he is old enough and responsible enough).
Browning semi-automatic 12 ga. shotgun. I think it was made in 56' We had a break action shotgun, I think the brand the "Black Princess" or something unknown age but it was old. I think its was grandpa's dads gun.
"What gun in my collection have I had the longest"????
The oldest is an 1860 SxS muzzle loader shot gun, next oldest is a .50 cal 1870 Springfield Rolling Block rifle...both obtained by my Dad in the mid 60's.
The gun I have personally owned the longest is a J.C. Higgins break-down .410 that my grandfather had used in Rattlesnake control in central Texas and gave to me in 1963 shortly before his death.
Other than those old things, I don't have any other guns:rofl:
My grandfather gave me a Smith and Wesson 61-3 escort 22lr around 1990. He bought it for my grandmother in the mid 1970's. I have had hunting rifles since about 1980 but they are long gone.
The oldest gun I own is not the gun I have owned the longest.
I think the gun I have owned the longest, a Davis .32 auto, is about twenty years. The oldest gun I own I received from my father about three years ago.
The oldest gun is a flint lock blunderbuss. Oldest breechloader is a Russian Berdan rifle from about 1890 something.
Oldest M1903 Springfield 2/28 on the barrel.
Longest owned boltaction .410 shotgun bought for $15.00 at an auction in 1967.
