What to do with inoperable shotgun??
I have a Remington 870 pump that never was right from the start. It's been too many years since I bought it & am now half a continent away from where I purchased it. Anyway, after having several gunsmiths work on it to no avail, I decided to sell the barrels to get some funds for other things. I sold the 2 barrels and now have the body of the shotgun. I've been keeping it around for a few years now just collecting dust. What are my options for getting rid of it? Is there a way to destroy it? I really don't want to keep it forever like this. I do not want to build it again and get it fixed. I got a better shotgun now. I live in Texas, where gun registration is not done. If it's too much of a pain, I'll just keep it around I guess.

You might try selling it at a gun show. Won't bring much, but might get you the cost of a box of ammo. Can't hurt to try.

If you still had the barrels I would have told you to make a lamp out of it.
Somebody here will take it off your hands. Plan B: sawazall.

GREAT IDEA! I'd go with that suggestion.

Put an ad in the paper and sell it locally if you can do that. Just advertise it non working with no barrel - you could probably get $100 or so for it.

Fully disassemble it and sell the stock & all of the small parts minus the receiver on Ebay.

I would think an 870 receiver would sell fairly quickly. I might even be interested in it.

Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME.

It would be cool to turn on a lamp via pump action.
Pulling the trigger for 'lights out' might be a bad idea OTOH.

Whats it doing that cant be fixed? An 870 isn't exactly some top secret enigma.
