    Rifle suggestions

I am looking to buy a .22lr rifle for my daughters aged 7 and 9. The problem I am having is that one is a lefty and the ohter is a righty. So far, I think the browning sa-22 would work since it ejects from the bottom. The browning is a little pricey though. Any other suggestions?

What special daughter wouldn't want a nice girlie bolt action Savage?

I am trying to stay away from bolt action since one shoots lefty and the other shoots righty. And they have said "No Pink!"

I am a lefty, and my Gf is a lefty. Even a semi auto ejecting brass to the right side of the gun doesn't bother me. I would suggest a level action, as this is not biased on either accounts.

Henry Golden Boy. Have one of these and it's a fantastic little rifle.

Taurus Model 62 Pump Rifle. Also have one of these and though not near as slick as the Golden Boy, it's a good shooter and great for ambidextrous shooting.

Going along with cvhoss, that Henry Golden Boy .22mag would be a great little rifle. The .22mag gives a little more distance and power over the .22LR. OMO

The henry golden boy sounds like it might work. How does .17hmr compare to .22? Is the recoil(or lack of) similar? Plus, I would like to have it of the girls stop shooting.

The taurus looks good also, but it is discontinued.

    Thanks all for the suggestions.

Sorry about giving the link to the Taurus. I didn't even notice that it was discontinued. Shame -- it was a decent little pump rifle.

Can't really help with the 17. I've shot a few but I've never been enamored with them enough to get past the cost difference in ammunition between it and a 22lr.

I would encourage you to take a look at the Henry youth rifle. Here's a link:

    Henry Repeating Arms Rifles

Not only is it a sweet little rifle for the youth, it works equally as well for adults.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

I have a Golden boy in .22 and will agree with that recommendation. Has some advantages in that its lever action so no real feeding issues. Nice looking gun too with old styling. Works well. Their small caliber stuff seems to be problem free most of the time.
