    Places in/near Plano, TX

Dad is going to texas in a couple weeks and will be there for a week or so. While there he'll be browsing for guns and a new/used truck and whatever else catches his fancy. Anyone in the area know of good pawn shops or gun shops that he can stop and browse in?

Can't help with shops in that area of Texas, but I assume he will just be there to look at firearms, and not to purchase them?
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

I hear that Gunmaster and Bullet Trap are pretty good stores. I've never been to either so I can't say from experience though. HTH.

Well heck, tell your Dad, Welcome to Texas. I'm sure he won't have a bit of trouble finding pawn/gun shops to browse around in.

if he finds one he likes he will. or if he finds 2 such as an LCP he'll pick me one up as well :-D. We've been to texas quite a few times. He used to live there back after grandpa got out of the Army. He's actually going there to visit family friends that have known him since he was born. Been there many times but never really looked around for pawn shops. Now that gas is cheaper than when he was out there last time (like $3.50+ a gallon) he can afford to better travel around. so basically anything decent within 100 mile radius of plano since it is texas and 20 mile trip to wally world isn't too uncommon over there in texas. was just looking to see if anyone knew of any first hand to check out. thanks for the help

Unless he is going to have it transferred to FL for purchasing it, it is not legal for an out of state resident to buy a handgun. He can legally have it transferred to a FLL dealer where he lives and pick it up on return though.

Nope, not even with a FL permit. I don't think he can even buy a long gun since he isn't in a contigous state.

Well at least not without doing a dealer transfer into a FL shop.
