I dont think it has even one mod to it and it is new.
Is $700 fair enough or do I wait a bit longer?
AK's here are running $550

No expert here, but I have heard some good things about DPMS, and I think $700 ARs are hard to come by...

I have the DPMS L16. Bought in NIB. Light 16" Barrel, M4 Style handguards. Fixed front sight and detatchable carry handle. I paid $740 back in September '08 before the price gouging started. I'd say $700 is good. You can see it in my Avatar.
Not one problem with it so far.

I'd say good deal...I got my plain-jane DPMS flat-top for ~$650 in March 08 before the gouging began...$700? Good to go.

I have one complete DPMS rifle and one DPMS upper on a Colt lower. They have been excellent shooters for me. The upper on the Colt lower is a 24" bull barrel and this is a sub 1/2 minute bench rifle. I would think that at the current time, $700.00 is a decent price for a new rifle.

I just bought a DPMS AR in March for $760. $700 is a good deal depending upon what kind of rifle it is. I think that it is an OK deal for the Sportical, which is a very entry-level weapon. Check the barrel twist, because the 1/12 and 1/13 barrels that they sometimes have on those will only stabilize the lighter bullets (usually 40-55 gr). If you want to shoot heavier bullets make sure to get a barrel with a 1/10 or 1/8 twist. 1/7 is great too but wears faster.
