    Back at FLETC - UPDATE

Today we had the written test and practical exam. The practical was a pass/fail type and I passed. The written test was graded as a percentage. I needed 70% to pass, I scored 94.23%. I passed the course and tomorrow will graduate as a Firearms Instructor from FLETC. After failing to even qualify the first time, graduating the second time through feels sooo sweet.

Congrats! So, you will be working at FLETC? My plan is to possibly join the SS, so I might end up there.

No, I won't be working there. I will be going back to my agency and instruct and qualify the other officers. This landed just right. We have three other Instructors but two are retiring this year. We normally have only two Instructors but the agency decided to set up a couple more for when the first two retire. That way we won't be set back trying to hire someone for the Instructors position. Good luck with SS, don't forget they also have a Uniform Division (UDSS). If they do hire you, you will probably spend some training time there but will also be sent to their academy in Beltsville, MD.

    Certainly a proud accomplishment...congrats!

Thanks. I know about the UD, but the plan would be to become a special agent.

    Congrats, BlackKnight.

    Job well done.

    Now you can relax.

Thank you all for the kind words and the encouragement. I can only do my best and while I can relax for a while the tough work is just beginning, training other officers. Oh BTW I am not a DEA agent so I am not the only one here qualfied to handle a weapon. Ha Ha Ha

    Congrats.

By the second week, of too many at FLETC, I was ready to come home. The G-Bar is good though. I also liked the food.

FLETC? I don't know that one. The only thing I could guess was Fed law enforcement training center.
It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.
