    Onwership Issue

Back when I was a sophomore in high school my dad purchased my first gun for me which was a Remington 870. Now that I am an adult is there anything that needs to be done since I will be taking the gun with me when I move out to establish that I am the owner of the gun?

Shoot it often, clean regularly, store it safely, and...allow 'paternal visits' from time to time.

Unless S.C. has firearms registration you shouldn't have to do anything.

To the best of my knowledge SC does not require the registration of guns, whether it be handguns or long guns. If that is the case no paper work would be required.
