If I remember correctly Massad Ayoob once testified as an expert witness concerning distance shooting with a snub nose. I believe the Prosecuting Attorney said that there was no need for self defense because his client was shooting a snub nose revolver and the person that returned fire was well out of range of the gun.

Mr Ayoob was able to demonstrate that snub nose has a greater range than most would believe.

I am sure someone here knows more of the details than I do.
Don't do things you don't want to explain to the Paramedics!

    Stupidity should be painful.

From on of my previous threads.
I think it was on the show titled: Impossible Shots I'm best guessing it was about an 8" balloon.

Anybody see Bob Munden on TV pop a red balloon on the first shot at 200 yards....yep, that was 200 yards...shooting a stock S&W Model 60 .38 caliber snubbie revolver?...Oh and I forgot to mention that there were some breezes blowing when he made the shot.

I reload my rounds for all of my guns, My 9mm Beretta with a hp-xtp using aa no2 at 5.5grns. Giving me velocity of 1300fps, I have reached targets of 150yrs on the 2-3 shot. My 30.06 is a quite bit further, 1800yrs. Glad to hear there are others in finding shooting far targets is just as fun as shooting close targets. I talked to a Sheriff and he said that most gun fights are at ranges from car to car and bullets are shot wildly, most of them not finding their mark. Just a little food for thought.
