SO!!! you think you can shoot 'eh
ya, well if you think your so good, go to a "Steel" competition
I have been shooting IPSC for years at my Club, but just recently joined USPSA.
I went to my first "steel challenge" yesterday and discovered I ain't shabby. BUT!!! there were quite a few guy there that were wasting a LOT OF AMMO.
One guy showed up with 200 rounds for a 125 round match and he ran out of ammo at 3 stages.
I brought 300 rounds and had 50 left, but I gave 100 rounds away so some guys good finish the match
Bottom line: if you want to be fast and accurate, I would strongly suggest you take up a steel challenge match...........
besides, it a lot of fun

or like some of the guys yesterday: ping---miss,miss,miss,miss...ping. ping, miss, miss, ping
yikes, some these guys forgot how to aim

Steel challenge is amazing in the amount of speed and accuracy that shows up. Especially when you practice for it. 5 shots from a draw, 5 hits on different targets at different distances, and usually in under 2-3 seconds ain't shabby in anyone's book.
I want to shoot Steel so bad... but I gotta get me a 1911 first.

I use a customized Para P40-16 (40cal, 'Limited') with four 20 round Mags and three 18 round mags.
Yesterday we shot 5 stages with 5 strings in each stage.
It was soooo much fun. There were a couple of guys with H&K 40cal and a couple with Glocks, some were shooting 9mm, 38 super, 40 and 45cal.
But most of the 40+ shooters were using race guns. I have trouble keeping up with those guys

What are you using? Dawson base pads? I'm still running the crummy factory +2 polymer junkers. Recommendations?
