    Ruger P85

I have had a P85 from the time they were available to the public, had to wait almost 2 years. I mainly have it on standby when traveling in my motor home. I have never CC seems just a little too heavy. Just thought I would ask opinions on the P85.

I used to have a P85 in fact it was the first gun I ever bought that was new.I used to carry it in a IWB Desantis holster. It always went bang when I pulled the trigger. Not that hard to carry all day.I'm still trying to find one of the first ones with the blue slide to replace that one that I traded for a 1911.(What a deal that was)

Had a P89. Good pistols in my opinion. Never carried mine. Got nothing bad to say about the Ruger P series pistols.

There was a recall of the P85, that's what led to the P89. If your P85 does not have a "MK-II" stanped on the slide, or in tiny letters on the left side safety lever, call Ruger with the serial #.

I own a couple of both the 85 and 89. I kept one of them with a ton of spare mags and a PC-9 carbine as a SHTF setup for many years, and would not hesitate to do so again.

I have a P-85. Cant hit the side of the barn with it. My Glock 26 is much better for me, don't know why. My PA3T is hard to hold onto.

Those guns are built like tanks...unfortunately they are not light and sleek like the more modern CC guns. The right sized person with a good belt and holster could potentially carry it CC, I am sure there are people who do. There are just so many other better options.
