I have had great success carrying a Kimber Ultra CDP as well as a Wilson Combat Professional. Even a full-size 1911 isn't too bad if you have the right set up. Those defender sized guns are nice for concealed carry though.

Are there any 1911's (compacts) that can be purchased for around 600 dollars?
I dont know of any gun stores that carry the S&W sub compact 45.
