Just bought a Kahr PM 45

I went in the gun shop to buy a LCP and came out with a PM 45.
I have never owned a Karh and would like some info about their
    quality from the forum members.
Naturally the guys at the gun shop told me they are great .
Since I have already bought it it's kind of like shutting the barn
door after the horse is out , but would like to here your comments.

My next gun will be a kahr. They are very thin! Most people love them, some have gotten lemons. A big part is the break in. 200 rounds for all the models I have looked at. Here is a link to the break in/ lube spot picture. Kahr lube image by Michigun on Photobucket

I've had GREAT experiences with Kahr handguns; P9, T9, K40. I prefer the steel-framed models (K Series) in everything over 9mm, but that's just because HOT .40 S&W loads can even push my K40 around a little. The PM 45 is the extreme (smallest/lightest frame in largest caliber). It takes skill, practice & attention to shoot that combo well... much like an Airweight J Frame .357 mag. It's a very interesting handgun. I would appreciate a real-world range report when you've had the chance to put it through the paces. Congrats!

A Kahr will be my next pistol. They do require a 200 round break in period until they are considered reliable. That is right from the factory. Also, here is a picture of the lube points on them. Kahr lube image by Michigun on Photobucket

This gun was bought new and traded back in because it was a handfull .
It's had about 50 rounds put through it .
I picked it up for 450.00 and did not see where I could go wrong .
I'll post pics and a range report soon.

Super price. If you don't like it, you can sell for no loss at the least. Personally, I found I did not like +P in my P45, but standard loads were fine.

I've had my PM9 for eight months or so. I carry it every day and love it. If I recall, I had two FTE's during the "break-in" period. I've now put about 700 rds through it without a problem.

My advice is follow the break-in instructions and make sure you fire enough of your SD carry ammo to be comfortable with it.

I have a PM9 which has been flawless with around 1500 rounds through it. Can't beat it for a concealable 9MM.

I also have a P45 which had some jamming issues out of the box. After 600+ rounds with no improvement, I sent it back to Kahr. They replaced the extractor and polished the feed ramp. I have about 800 rounds throught it since then and it has worked fine. I have started carrying it instead of my G30, since the thinness and light weight makes it ideal for a concealable 45 for me. I considered the PM45, but I have large hands and the P45 just felt much more secure in my hand than the PM45.
