Decided on the Buck Mark
Decided on the Buck Mark
Well, I decided to go with the Buck Mark (I got the “Camper” model) and I really like it. I put 50 rounds of Federal 510B and 50 rounds of Remington Golden Bullet thru it with one misfire from a Federal round and no failures from the pistol itself.
A couple of things:
1. I am going to need to paint the front sight white so that I can see it better.
2. The cleaning instructions only have you cleaning the barrel and the breach face. Well, I decided to remove the grip panels to get the oil and dirt that was on and around the top of the grips. Low and behold, as soon as I removed the grips, all these small parts (magazine release and spring, slide stop, etc…) just started falling to the floor around my feet! Apparently the grips are used to hold these parts on the pistol. I will need to take some time to figure out the “best” way for me to clean it without losing anything. I just can not see myself allowing the “crud” to build up under the grip panels.
So far I like! It is comfortable and shoots real nice. It is more accurate than I am and will do fine for training, plinking and even small game at close range.

Browning makes a great pistol...enjoy!
Put a Truglo on the front sight...

Good choice. I own two Buckmarks. Both are extraordinarily accurate and reliable with the right ammo, my wife's Buckmark shows a preference for CCI standard velocity, mine likes high velocity ammo.
The parts beneath the stocks look complicated at first glance, but they can only fit one way. A little bit of study and you can figure it out.

Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

Nice pistol...That was my first choice being tried and proven, but since my wife and daughters hands are quite smaller than mine, I opted for the Walther P22. Enjoy the newbie...

I opted for a Beretta U22 Neos but the Buckmark is a fine pistol too.

Here is an item you may find useful in keeping the parts from going astray.

Good choice. I have two which I enjoy shooting. I made the mistake of removing the grips on one of mine with the same result. Had to carefully remove the grips from the second one so I could correctly reassemble the first one. Other than that, they're great pistols. :)

Sure it will! Buckmarks are nice. .22s are great fun too. Good move on your part for getting a nice pistol.
