Would like to here from owner's regarding holsters and 44 mag/ 44spl loads. I purchased one a few days ago and I'm very pleased. Yes, I have fired it and no, it's not too much recoil for me!

I use an OWB from Fist on those occasions where I carry one of my N frames. Great guns but you must have a good holster and belt.
FIST, INC.
Best ammo.... For what? I like the Cor Bon 165gr load for SD purposes.
CORBON Conventional JHP
Clicking on the .44mag load brings up the .41mag specs for some reason? This load is not too much to handle in a 4" N frame. I have a Charter Arms .44spl and I shoot Federal LSWCHP in it. Very easy shooting load. This particular gun groups poorly with Gold Dot, YMMV.
Your ammo needs for huntng, animal defense, plinking or such may be different.
I'm interested in S.D. loads. I handload for hunting and plinking. Thank's for the link.

you might also want to look at some BuffaloBore loads.

I bought one for my mother a few years ago.
Speer 200 gr Gold Dot in .44 Special is what she uses.
I also like the Hornday 240 XTP .44 magnum, but in a gun that
light you get some recoil.
Some might also say that the .44 magnum will over penetrate
on a human in defensive shooting.
I don't like revolvers much, but have to say that the S&W action on that
gun of hers is the best I've ever handled.
Don't have any idea if the newer ones are a light and smooth.
Take a look at Simply Rugged holsters - well made, very reasonably priced, and Rob's a great guy to deal with.
