Good news -- Bunny grows up! :)
Hey all! Remember how I said I know what I want to be when I grow up, and it's an instructor? Well guess what??? I'm set for taking the NRA's BIT (Basic Instructor Training) next month!
I'll be taking BIT and then a day or two later, the Basic Pistol portion, so that I can teach pistol (pistol only at this point, but I'm thinking about maybe going back later and doing rifle & shotgun as well, as soon as I learn more from practical experience with them.) I've already been offered a job as the first Female instructor on staff...by my own NRA instructors!
Pretty cool, huh? Wish me luck! It all goes down August 23rd and 25th. I'm told that IF I pass with a 90% and then IF the training counselor recommends me for an Instructor Rating with the NRA, it's still an 8-10 week processing time from the NRA right now, so the earliest I could officially start would be end of October, right after I get back from the US Training centers Tactical Pistol class.
But in the meanwhile, I am getting a copy of the class manual, the guys asked that that I look it over, and if there's any part I'd really like to teach, to speak up and let them know, and that could be the part that I get to do for the class. And until I get my rating, I'll be attending the classes to watch from an "instructor POV" instead of being the student!
I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!! (Why is there no bunny-hop emoticon?)
