My local gunshop had a Sig sale and..

Sales people in these gun stores know absolutely nothing about what they are selling.

I was looking at a Sig 2022 they had on a table display and it went like this:

Me: this Sig comes with more than one grip, correct?
Salesman: As he looks in the box "yes it does"
Me: which grip is this on the gun?
SalesmAn: Either the big one or the medium one
Me: Is the gun easy to take down?
Salesman: As he locks the slide back.."it's just like all the rest of the Sigs, you just lock this back and it pops right off"
Me: well if it just pops off, what stops the slide from popping off every time you finish a magazine?
    Salesman: Dumb look
Me: My Sig has a take down lever, where is the take down lever on this one?
Salesman: Well, it's more like the H&K
Me: I'm not familiar with an H&K
    Salesman: CAN I HELP SOMEBODY?

This is the same with any salesperson in any field. There is always a "new guy". There is always the "professional" salesman who can sell anything no matter what it is or how little he knows about it.

I like the quiet old guys sitting on a stool in the corner. Sometimes it takes a little work to get them going, but they are usually the ones to know.

I always got annoyed at people who asked questions they already knew the answers to.

LOL! Same here. I'm guessing it's some sort of test and I usually play along after a short delay.

Sixto in his reply said: I always got annoyed at people who asked questions they already knew the answers to.
I wouldn't have asked the question if I was certain of the answer. I honestly could not figure out how to take the gun down. I have handled many Sigs, and own one, but this model is totally different.

Sounds like you should be in gun sales!

SP 2022 inquired: So did you buy it? If not why? or why did you?
I really liked the gun, it was beautifully finished, nicely balance and appeared to be well made, but, I don't need a range gun and it seemed a bit too big compared to my other carry guns. No, I did not buy it. BTW the price was $489.

I had a problem with a sales person at a gun shop a few times. Figured it was me. Assumed they get tired of looky-lous (although I had paid for a few services and purchase a gun from them in the last 30 day of the conversation).

I suggested the shop to a few people. It was local, and I always like to support local. In addition, the gunsmith is great (in contrast to the attitude of the sales person). I did not share my experience, other then confidentially to my brother, about the sales person (it is a small world, no point making problems for a local business). Everyone reported back they did not like the sales person.

Sometimes people have bad days, and sometimes it is just the way they are. If not for the gunsmith, I would not go there.

Well, at least the salesman did not shovel a line of bovine excrement at you.

I really should look into one of these SIGs. They appear to be blowing them out. I just wish they shared magazines with one of the "classic" SIGs.
