    Mauser Broomhandle

Been wanting one for a while mainly due to the history of them. Found this one at the Fayetteville gun show this past weekend at a price way too good to pass up, even found ammo and stripper clips to fit it. A bit large for CCW but great fun to shoot a piece of history although accuracy does leave something to be desired, target is 50 rounds at 7 yards just may be able to hit the broad side of a barn from inside.

A bit of the history may be found here. The Mauser model 1896 Broomhandle

wholly Han Solo. Add a scope and a funnel on the front and you got a mighty modern blaster.

    Thumbs up

That's one I would love to find at a good price -- much less "a price way too good to pass up."

BTW -- did you know that they had to modify the cowboy action rules, (something like pre-1900 production) because of it.

Nice! I once made a set of ivory grips for a broomhandle.

That would make a nice addition. After examining the spent brass it appears that I have some headspace problems but with a bit of Googelizing I found a gunsmith that specializes in restoring Broomhandles to include relining the barrel and rechambering back to the original 30 Mauser round.

    That's a nice piece!

Now you just need a CrossBreed Supertuck for it.

    I am extremely jealous.
A shop close by has one for just under $2000 with the original wood stock.
Have to leave my plastic(Visa, not my M&P9c lol), at home when I go there.
