I was at my local Costco picking up a few (ya, right) things. As I was in line, the cashier was talking to the boxer asking him where she could learn to shoot. I couldn't believe I was hearing this, so I just listened for a few more moments to make sure what I was hearing was really pertaining to shooting. The guy knew nothing. I then chimed in with the local gun club.
I asked what she wanted to shoot. She said that she didn't want to shoot anybody. She said her husband just died and she wanted a way to protect herself.
I gave her the name of a local shooting school and referred her to this forum. She was very thankful. Not sure of her background, but I hope she finds what she is looking for.

good job! I love hearing stories of helping new people discover the shooting sports, and the value of protecting yourself.
That cashier is suddenly by herself, and now she does need an equalizer...you pointed her in the right direction.
You need to follow up with her on your next visit.
